The existing President Park of Astana should see more action and life in the future. Because the soil is poor, trees grow very slowly in Astana; in the foreseeable future they will not form a spatial structure. Therefore the park will have a second level to create space, a skyway as a series of walkways to organize the park‘s space now. This will provide different areas for gardens and other uses with intensive planting, water gardens and recreational gardensAlong the Ischim River a new river promenade with high leisure time value will be constructed. The new opera house of Astana will be embedded in the park - a glass pyramid by Foster + Partners Architects. The extension of the axis of the the pyramid will contain water gardens with broad cascades. Fog-spraying mythical beasts and activity pavilions will enliven the park. The axis is continued in the form of a new bridge to directly connect the east and west banks of the Ischim River.
