Small Homes, Big Impact.
Fivedot has been at the forefront of Seattle’s movement toward more compact, sustainable housing solutions. Our work with Detached Accessory Dwelling Units (DADUs) reimagines the traditional single-family lot as a flexible framework for multigenerational living, rental opportunities, and gentle density.
Fivedot offers it pre-approved design called the Schooner through Seattle and Kirkland’s expedited permitting programs. The city of Seattle created this program to reduce some of the barriers that homeowners face when building a DADU, Fivedot has permitted over 140 Schooners in Seattle, and now it has expanded to Kirkland. This approach allows homeowners benefit from a simple and streamlined permitting process and reduced permit fees. (welcome packet)
With a footprint 1,000 square feet, each DADU is designed to live larger than its size, balancing functionality, comfort, and beauty. Natural light, open floor plans, and thoughtful material choices create spaces that feel expansive and welcoming.
