The renovation and refurbishment of the historic Memorial Hall on the Pratt Institute campus in New York included compliance with ADA standards, including fire safety and theatrical electronics, while restoring the basic framework of the hall. A scheme incorporating the original three-color, glazed and gold-tipped paint system was developed for the carpet, curtains and wood finishes, and the original orchestra chairs were refurbished and reupholstered with fabric that tied all of these elements together. Lost and damaged seats were reproduced from the original design. Repainting was done, highlighting the decorative details around the proscenium arch and restoring the oak paneling around the entire room.
