Invited CompetitionThe ambition of our proposal for the new Pratt Institute Graduate Residence Hall is to make it a destination within the campus and a symbol of Pratt’s commitment to the importance of design and the creative arts in society. We have attempted to use an economy of manufacturing techniques as the basis for innovative design options, resulting in high quality living units and public space for Pratt Students.At a time when the building industry is fundamentally changing, the new Pratt Graduate Residence Hall offers an historic opportunity to be at the forefront of what is possible when design and manufacturing become integrated. This project will extend the advantages of off-site modular construction beyond cost effectiveness to include excellence in design.
