Poundbury Public Building

The Public Building is the focal element of Poundbury Phase 2E, looking south across the Square to the sea.  It fully embodies the Poundbury/Urban Village principle of mixed use, all under one roof, with eight flats above ground floor offices.  A central, top lit, planted courtyard unites all levels and floods light into the interior.  The concept is one of genuine mixed use and internal transparency.

The classical composition has colonnades of the Tuscan order both front and rear and a boldly rusticated base.
