COLLABORATION WITH EDS International
Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects (LOHA) is committed to engaging the complexities of contemporary society through architecture. We approach our work with ruthless optimism, dedicated to a conviction that architecture can awaken people and enrich communities. Our process is collaborative and iterative; we understand that our architecture is accomplished by and for people.
Our work coherently and effortlessly synthesizes a project’s programmatic, economic, functional, and aesthetic goals. We strive to balance ideals and pragmatics, intuition and logic, and radical vision and fulfilled expectations in our work. We ground our process in rigorous exploration, persistent questioning, technical expertise, and creative pragmatism. We strive to craft distinctive, elegantly resolved designs that meet the needs of our clients and respond to the ambitions of the greater community.
We understand the challenges of project delivery. Grounded in years of experience, we challenge preconceptions with an understanding that, while working within parameters, creative improvisation can yield unexpected solutions and extraordinary results. Since 1990, LOHA has built over 75 projects across three continents. Our work ranges in typology from institutional buildings to bus shelters, and from large-scale developments to single-family homes. LOHA has been published in over 20 countries and recognized with over 100 awards, including the 2010 AIA Los Angeles Firm of the Year.
