The restoration of the Dining Hall at the Polynesian Cultural Center was a big undertaking. The PCC wanted to re-brand the dining experience to show tribute to the rise of the Polynesian culture on the Island of Hawaii. It was required that all lighting be sustainable and long life. We found an LED solution that would not only allow for proper dining and show illumination from 50' throws, but also give us the IP66 rating needed. The coastal air had proven very detrimental to typical indoor lighting products in the past. we needed a solution that would last through the years. It is reported that the 20' printed mural that wraps the entire interior of the building is the largest printed architectural mural on record at 8,000 sq. ft. Lighting this mural properly was of significant importance. We used 48" IP66 LED dimmable wall grazers to help make this mural visually pop.
