Polikatikia” is located on the island of Karpathos and consists of six identical family residences. Given the extensive programmatic requirements and the complexity of the site, the project was conceived as a composition of six distinct yet equivalent volumes that adapt to the human scale and topography of the area.
Although identical in form and layout, each residence is positioned with subtle shifts and rotations from strict orthogonality, creating a dynamic spatial dialogue among them. This arrangement allows for individual access and privacy while establishing a shared sense of community between families. The interplay of these volumes generates a sequence of open spaces and visual corridors that frame diverse views toward the sea, transforming the complex into a coherent yet lively architectural ensemble that balances repetition and variation, unity and individuality.
