POINT RICHMOND
Nestled into the side of the hills facing the San Francisco Bay, this home was completely rebuilt and expanded in order to provide uninterrupted views across the Bay toward both the Bay and Golden Gate Bridges and the San Francisco skyline in the distance. From the new construction of spaces in both the upper and lower structures to the careful refinishing and duplicating of the existing beams, this project makes it possible for both family and guests to enjoy the surrounding physical and cultural landscapes. The upper structure now is the guest house above a home office and garage which leads to a bridge which connects to the main house. The lower structure offers an expansive living and dining space, a generous eat-in kitchen, media room, guest bedroom, children's bedrooms and a master bedroom suite. As the sunlight moves through these spaces, the passage of time is at once both relaxing and inspiring.
