For this Community Art Center in the city of Plymouth, Michigan, the main goal was to create a building that would house studios, galleries, offices and, as well as, residences for visiting artists / professors / instructors. The main facade is curved to invite people in, while the windows are positioned to receive as much northern light as possible (to avoid too much sun-light that could damage the artwork). There is a wall that divides the private from public areas, on top of that wall, there is a skylight that creates a light-well in the darkest section of the building.
