The brief called for a second phase office development to further enhance the facilities and services for the already thriving Jaya33 development.
Being located in an urban site, two major design elements throughout Plaza33’s planning and architectural development are: Typology of Piazza and Typology of Urban Streetscape.
The urban definition of Piazza inspires the design of Plaza33 that has its ground floor planning incorporated with pedestrian streetscape as an extension of the adjacent building, Jaya33’s pedestrian linkage. The pedestrian links from the street through building into an open piazza within building, giving a sense of ambiguity between inside and outside. The notion of Piazza is reinterpreted and adapted as a semi indoor lobby that encourages the congregation of the public.
The façade treatment is a juxtaposition of contradicting elements like horizontal versus vertical and solid versus void. This language is persistent throughout the architectural composition including internal flooring and ceiling design as a sense of unity that allows seamless transition inside out.
