We love this type of challenge and our team put together a concept for Planters based around our exclusive Table Tracker system.
Gerald and Christine Ingram decided to choose IFSE as their partner for the project because our design, combined with our unique service
concept, was so different from the traditional designs they saw from our
competitors.
Table Tracker creates a better customer experience than we can ever achieve with
a traditional free flow servery system. Every table in the restaurant is electronically
tagged, so the staff know exactly where you are sitting and bring your hot food
straight from the kitchen to you.
No more cold meals because of queues at the tills when you are busy and every hot meal is individually prepared by the chefs in the kitchen just for you. With Table Tracker Planters can deliver restaurant quality food straight to your table while still achieving quick service.
Revolutionizing the way we serve the food means we can open our minds to the
way the back of house and front of house areas interact. At last, a completely open
plan kitchen is possible in a garden centre environment. Customers can see
products being cooked, interact with the chefs and see sandwiches and paninis being made up in the deli, as well as joints of meat being hand carved in front of them. There is a live stone baked pizza counter and a great in house bakery for cakes and pastries.

With 300 seats inside and nearly 200 outside, we developed several different themed seating areas as well as a separate Dog Room in the style of a farmhouse kitchen, a first in a garden centre.
Fresh food is everything here, so we designed a return point to pick up some lovely hot desserts (with custard of course) after you have eaten your main course. We haven’t forgotten the children either, they have their own soft serve ice cream bar.
As customers come in to the restaurant they have the extra choice of a warm and friendly café serving great coffee, cakes and toasted paninis from our Electrolux High Speed Grill.
That means they are ready in less than a minute while your coffee is brewing. If you decide to take your lunch in here, don’t worry, Table Tracker will find you here too!
IFSE is a Design and Build company, so Gerald and Christine only had to deal with one company for design, construction and fit out.
Our interior design department worked on the themes, colours, furniture and lighting while our technicians designed the catering fit out and all the services. We helped establish a temporary café and then stripped out the existing restaurant, installed new underground drainage and completely rebuilt to the new design in time for the season.
