Pizzeria Etna is located in »sintetic« building from 90s, in small town Divača, Slovenia. That is why, the main focus of this renovation was to make space more sustainable - mostly with use of natural materials like solid wood.
Furniture is a combination of black and natural oak. Metal instalation was added to protect walls from getting dirty, plus integrated bulbs create great ambient light.
We kept just two existing elements - the black tiles on the floor and stone cladding on the bar, which we painted black.
Though the dining area below the black ceiling is essentially one space, the separate areas show a variety of expressions depending on time of the day and light. Overlapping in layers or blurring the boundaries between tables, light and time create a room full of richness and depth. Our goal to provide a space with many different personalities to accommodate the needs of every customers regardless of age and generations, lead to a pizzeria with many returning customers.
