As a company in transition, Pioneer Investments asked Margulies Perruzzi Architects to help them meet their changing space needs. Pioneer began by moving back office operations to an 80,000 sf space in Medford, Massachusetts. The design solution succeeded in accommodating Pioneer’s need for more open workstations, rather than private offices.
Margulies Perruzzi Architects worked with Pioneer again to consolidate several customer service groups from a suburban location into space in a downtown Boston office tower. Maximizing the head count that could be accommodated within the irregularly-shaped floorplates was the most important of our client’s goals.
Another primary design goal was to keep the design on all five floors consistent. Features of the renovated space include an increase in collaborative workstations, glass windows to allow light into the center of the building, and a pre-fabricated wall system on the fifth floor, which would allow for flexibility within the space. During renovation, Margulies Perruzzi Architects ensured that Pioneer’s large data center remained open.
