The Pinus house is situated at Campos do Jordao, at 1,800 meters altitude, surrounded by native Araucaria forest. Its implantation was made not to change the original characteristics of the land, which has steep slopes. The space was designed for a couple at weekends, overlooking an area of environmental preservation (Floretal Park). It has an integrated internal space of 40m2, with decks on the north and south.
The house structure is composed of pillars of eucalyptus. Recicled steel cables make structural bracing allowing a balance of 3,5 meters at the south end of the house. The walls and ceilings are made of OSB panels with different finishes and modular measures that oriented the house and its practical assembly. Countertops and shelves are made from prefab eucalyptus panels style "finger joint", with FSC certification.
Due to the climatic characteristics of the mountainous region of Campos do Jordao, were used in designing strategies to optimize energy use in a passive way, minimizing the environmental impact of the house and around it.
