.Ket architectural bureau has designed a super tactile installation for the international exhibition of architecture and design – ARCH MOSCOW, which takes place in Gostiny Dvor, the historic building in the city center.
The installation is an antithesis and a protest to the blockage and the crisis of the professional community within the framework of this exhibition event. The authors took as a basis the desire of any exhibition visitor to find an oasis among the string of words and images that captured every meter of this building. “There is too much noise, stress and snobbery around. It is worth stopping, lying down and calming down,” they say. That is why the installation instructions urge you to lie down among the soft tubes and look at the sky, abstracting from the aggressive information flow both visual and audio.
The installation is made of 529 soft foam 2-meter tubes with a radius of 40 mm for a comfortable grip and a solid foam horizontal cushion with a height of 600 mm for ergonomics.
The entire system of foam tubes is supported by a metal "palm" frame. Each foam tube is attached to the grid of the frame with a plastic clamp that fixes the height of each tube at one mark.
The installation became the most visited place at the exhibition for all age groups, flooded social networks with photos and became "the best public space" of Gostiny Dvor, according to the ARCH MOSCOW.
