The project is located in the southern part of Seville, on a plot of land where the old Quartermaster's Barracks used to stand, bordering the Su Eminencia road to the north and the Guadaira Park to the south. This park, recently created, crosses the city from east to west, following an old riverbed and creating a landscaped route that connects with the main green areas of the surroundings.
The project plot has therefore a border condition, constituting a sort of frontier between the great urban density of the BAMI neighborhood and the natural environment of the park.
The project is based on the desire to create a porous boundary in which buildings and open areas intermingle to create the illusion that the park enters and is diluted within the intervention. Following this idea, the building is condensed into three thirteen-storey towers, which free up most of the plot to create a wide network of landscaped areas, where pergolas and water features are arranged, reminiscent of the old riverside forest of the disappeared riverbed.
The towers present a dual image. From the park they are perceived as a set of great serenity: three identical volumes of pure forms and warm colors, covered with Niwala limestone, facing south, crowned by large metal louvred visors. From the north, on the other hand, each tower presents a dark-colored attached volume, with a different configuration and height in e
ach case, generating an asymmetrical and dynamic image that reflects the urban heterogeneity of the neighborhood.
Between these two volumes that make up each building, one light and one dark, there is a third semi-transparent piece: a stairwell, with a skin of perforated steel sheet, which filters the sunlight, and ends up leading to a panoramic viewpoint from where you can see the whole neighborhood with your eyes wrapped in a metallic veil.
This idea of a dematerialized element is recovered in the common areas, where a social club is created, covered with a light envelope of perforated sheet metal, which at night functions as a large lantern illuminating the center of the garden.
