The project includes a 60,000-seat football stadium, an 18,000-seat comprehensive gymnasium, a club that accommodates exhibitions and catering services, a multi-functional training hall, as well as commercial, hotels and other facilities.
The functional innovation brings about a breakthrough in spatial layout. The football stadium, the club and the gymnasium are woven together with graceful lines to form an iconic urban architectural complex.

Serving major functions for undertaking top-level sports events and promoting sports exchanges, the project is aimed to become a first-class sports park.
The structural design is based on the functional requirements of the buildings and the roof materials. The design team innovatively adopted rigid cable-dome structure with a large inner circular opening, supporting the 25,000 m2 ETFE roof with a maximum span of 64m by 482 high-strength cables. The overall vertical support is achieved by the use of unequal-width grid structures, which meets the boundary conditions of the external tension ring of the large-opening cable dome structure. By fully releasing the tension of the cables, the overall roof appears light, safe, simplistic and efficient. The design meets the technical requirements for the large-span structure by using less than 1/5 of the steel expected, achieving the harmony among architecture, structure, climate and function.

A series of sustainable design strategies are adopted in this project. The use of recyclable materials is maximized. Green rainwater facilities and efficient sprinkler irrigation technology are used to reduce outdoor water consumption. Outdoor shading facilities help to improve the thermal performance of the enveloping structure. Besides, energy-efficient electrical equipment and air conditioning are utilized. Those strategies together create a low-carbon sports park.
