The basic concept for this office building addresses the desire to have the project reflect the relationship between the natural environment and day-to-day activities of the Fisheries, Wildlife, and Policy Departments to be housed within. Subsequently the building inhabitants are given every opportunity possible to experience the outdoor environment via extensive views and access to the exterior.
The site informed the design, from the extensive wetlands on each side of the site, to the orientation to Mount Rainier, with visual connection to the new administration complex entry. The building blends with the natural environment and provides daylight to all building inhabitants.
