The Beijing Innovation Center’s North Building is a new 2 floor expansion to an existing site that involved the complete renovation of the existing shell space to provide more lab and office settings.
A new look and feel has been applied to the Consumer Learning Center on the 1F with the addition of a reception waiting area and a number of rooms to cater for activities such as hosting interviews and product testing.
Labs are located on the 2F and are neatly tucked behind a central block of huddle rooms, phone seating and touchdowns that support both the labs and the office space. This allows working neighbourhoods to be open to natural daylight, with a great mix of seating and work settings interspersed together with new Smart solutions to support better collaboration.
The office's central feature is the cafeteria & collaboration hub, which serves as a multifunctional space and a town hall. The space has a raw industrial feel with elements such as the ‘Beijing Red’ terracotta brick wall cladding and the exposed galvanised ventilation ductwork.
The site offers accessible and e-charging parking bays, with Universal Design considered throughout the space. This P&G site is also the first to upcycle P&G waste materials into carpet tiles, helping to drive P&G sustainability initiatives.
A rich selection of plants and greenery throughout the office, brings a final layer of freshness and life to the transformed space.
