Pergola Home:
The Project is Located in “Tierra de Sueños 2“, a recently open suburb in
Roldán, near Rosario City. The plot of land comprises a surface of 320 m2, with
a 12mts frontage to one of the most important avenues, where the commercial
activity it is in continuos growth.
From the begining of
this Project the intention was to offer to the client a custom-made house,
trying not only to meet all the functional requirements and financial
variables, but also look into their personal desires and way of life.
Based on these premises and along the whole design process the concept of
pergola understood as a semi-open place for social life, where you can
spend great part of the year, pointed us the design direction. At the same
time we were developing the concept of “Pergola” we find a new concept
placed in second place by the clients, but with a strength enough to be
consider in our design process: this concept was the client desire to have
in a future the opportunity of setting a small shop or drugstore to be
runned up by the own family, I would like to notice that commercial
activity on small scale is a deeply-root custom in argentinian culture.It has been considered the exact position of the North Point to
guaranteed the sunlighting through the whole day in living and dinning
rooms, garden and swimming pool. The Pergola acts as climate controler and
sunlight regulator, leaving differents light penetrations, depending on
the season of the year, and giving a better quality to interior and
semi-open spaces. The Pergola is considered as an unique multi-purpose
space, where social life take place. Different uses of the pergola such as main access, semi-open space,
garage, barbacue place and garage sale, make stronger the pergola concept.The house is dived up to 3 well difened areas: Living and dinning
rooms north oriented with direct views to the garden and swimming pool,
the damp strip: bathrooms, kitchen, and at the front: both bedrooms
protected by the mandatory setback.
