The Precision Engineering Research Association UK headquarters are located on a large campus to the north of Melton Mowbray.
Built in the mid-1950s, they could at best be described as functional, but certainly not attractive. They were also becoming increasingly difficult to maintain and run. They were not felt to convey the right image for a high technology research establishment.
RDArchitects Nottingham were asked to refurbish the principle blocks on site, to improve the look, and increase thermal efficiency. A series of composite cladding systems are to be utilised which will dramatically improve the heat retention and provide an exciting face to one of the areas major employers.
