Three levels. A consistent spatial concept. The Penthouse S develops as a vertical living structure above the rooftops of Linz. Clear lines, minimalist forms, and precisely coordinated materials define its character. Wood, natural stone, and large-format porcelain stoneware form the tranquil basis of the design.
The living area on the first floor is the heart of the house. Sloping windows characterize the architecture and draw the eye outside. Light enters in different ways, shaping the space as the day progresses. The fireplace and bar add deliberate accents. The modern fireplace is designed as a clear, calm structure. The natural stone bar forms a communicative counterpart. Indirect lighting traces its contours and emphasizes the materiality – discreetly and precisely.
The kitchen is designed as a sculptural element. A generous block defines the space and also serves as a work and meeting place. The custom-made kitchen backsplash conceals the food storage area, which is integrated into the surface without creating any additional visual clutter. Function becomes part of the architecture.
Elevator doors with delicate metal frames and glass structure the floors. They create transparency without forcing openness and add a subtle industrial touch to the clear material concept. The staircase connects the three floors as a precisely guided element. It structures movement through the house and creates spatial continuity.
In the private areas, materials and colors deliberately take a back seat. Custom-made fixtures integrate storage space naturally into the architecture. Each area follows the same approach: reduction, clarity, material honesty. Penthouse S is the result of a consistently managed planning process—individual requirements were bundled and translated into a clear architectural language.
