»We love to cook; and we cook a lot! And ... we have a lot of guests!« – The clients’ statement was the starting point for the design above the rooftops of Graz, Austria. A simple gesture creates an intelligent and generous spatial configuration with a unique atmosphere. The center of the design is the spacious open-plan kitchen: the center of life – there one cooks and eats together with all the friends that are on visit. Steel, wood and in-situ concrete create a laid back, chary but sophisticated ambience for living. Discreet lightening underlines this atmosphere additionally: daylight flows through the rooms animating the interior; indirect and artificial lightening tunes the interior and its places differently – at night or in the winter. The reduced architecture functions here as the atmospheric backdrop for an every-day life.
