Peleta Square is the central square of Peleta, a small village in Arcadia.
The most important characteristic of this project is the central open space, a kind of "orchestra", that had to be designed in order to host festivals and traditional events of folklore dances. At the same time, when these events do not take place, the centrality of the square creates a friendly atmosphere for children to play and parents to observe.
This square, at the moment, is in bad condition. All the pavement, structure, lighting, distribution of movement, and outdoor furniture had to be totally redesigned.
The study of the surrounding roads had been one of the major themes for the total regeneration of the place, introducing, eco-friendly methods for the distribution of the rainwater runoff (permeable paving, rain gardens etc).
