Pedestrian Bridge

Palafolls, Spain

STATUS
Built
YEAR
2012
The footbridge can be divided into three main areas: a lower industrial zone where the bridge begins with a tree-lined walk, the B-682 road with a width of 20 meters and the soon-to-be-built Sant Lluís neighbourhood. The footbridge is formed by a 168-metre long continuous ramp and has three different sections according to the three areas.

The first section is 100 meters long and oriented towards the 5th street of the industrial area. Here a ramp is connected to landings reaching an altitude of 20,5 meters above sea level. A green protection wall next to the road shielding the stairs is connected to the highest landing of the bridge, creating a visual unity of the construction.

The second section, the bridge measuring 36 meters, flies like a curved structure over the road. The bridge coincides with the widest section of the ramp and can therefore be used as a viewpoint.

The third section is another ramp divided into three landings which connect the flying area to the street of the 8th and 9th sectors of the Sant Lluís neighbourhood. This part has a total length of 32 meters.
