Designed for a local neighborhood park in Jarfalla, a town where is 30-minute away from Stockholm central station, Pedal Petal presents itself as a gate into the park as well as towards the Northern landscape of Sweden through virtual and augmented reality device.
As an interface between physical and virtual worlds, Pedal Petal attempts to bridge these growingly detached realms together. Through mobile charging and wifi zone, Pedal Petal lure visitors to transcend from the physical into virtual and subsequently encourage them to share experience through physical communication back in the reality.
The entrance station consists of 4 pairs of hybrid bicycle charging and virtual reality device. The charging station is activated through pedaling of the bicycle machine which generates electricity for charging, while at the same moment it trans-locates the visitors through the virtual reality all the way along the Northern direction to take a glimpse of Swedish landscape.
