The 'Pearler' gracefully risers above the Tea Tree of our childhood summer holidays, at one in it's serene coastal environment.A home for a couple of Melbourne refugees seeking to spend their retirement days painting, walking on the beach and generally communicating with nature, with a minimum reliance on the grid. The house is highly energy efficient, with its timber clad skin wrapped around a massive curving spine of Western Australian limestone, giving thermal mass and texture to the interior of the home.Warm, earthy tones and texture allow the house to visually and metaphorically compliment the ruggedly beautiful of the property.
