Pavna lake near Lonavala, Mumbai is a very scenic lake in and around Mumbai which makes it one of the most sought after location for having weekend homes. This 30 metre contoured site is well placed next to lake so that the family can make there own jetty at a later date to enjoy boat rides and evening private swimming in the lake. As an architect our vision was very clear to create no hindrance to this scenic panoramic view of the lake from the house that we design. So the overall approach to the house was of one with an open plan concept with minimum wooden structural members for the primary living space. The view of the lake is not just what we wanted to focus on but also of the mesmerising grand view of the mountains all around the site on the other side.
