Patronage Laique

STATUS
Built
YEAR
2014
SIZE
10,000 sqft - 25,000 sqft
BUDGET
$5M - 10M
A new mixed use building, public and private, made of a permeable, public-accessible core in direct connection with the outside and the neighbourhood and another private-residential core functionally independent from the previous one, but totally integrated on the volumetric and architectural side. The Patronage seeks to be a new concept of multipurpose building open towards the inhabitants of the neighbourhood, through the permeable space created. Strong attention was put on the design of the semi-public transition spaces, to the reading room and to the meeting and events rooms: all are articulated around a multi-level foyer, connecting the entrance and the event room with the multipurpose room on the first floor. On the last 4 floors lies the residential program: 30 studios for young workers.
