Design for this LEED sensitive Science and Technology High School was based on a “free flow,” hands- on, collegiate style learning environment. The $30 Million facility was designed with flexibility in mind, maximizing opportunities for students to work together on group projects and interact with professional staff. Sustainability measures consisted of minimizing rain water runoff, energy usage, and labor intensive maintenance. As the Architect of Record, Perez led the design team which included Verges Rome Architects, Concordia, and David Stephen, creator of the “high tech high schools” concept.
