The Guerrieri Academic Commons is the new epicenter of intellectual life at Salisbury University. It unifies all academic support programs under one roof to encourage student-centered, interdisciplinary learning. Internally, the building is organized around a dramatic, light-filled atrium. Each of the Commons’ four floors supports a specific type of learning. The first floor, which includes the circulation desk, is devoted to staff-supported collaboration. The second floor’s focus is teaching and learning skills, and the third floor supports individual learning. The fourth floor’s special collections research library and assembly hall encourage learning through primary sources and public dialogue. Ayers Saint Gross is the prime architect of record in association with Sasaki.
