In typical Patagonia fashion, this shop is about maintaining and showcasing the building’s rich history, most notably its run as CBGB Annex, a record shop, gallery, and event space. The design was meant to be as minimal as possible but due to years of neglect and abuse, significant modifications were unavoidable. Due to the long standing barricade with its flying fish logo this shop was mistakenly dubbed Bowery Sushi by locals. The concept evolved with each new discovery. When much of the floor structure was found to be damaged beyond repair, the whole thing was ripped up and the structure replaced. The old beams were given a second life as a suspended ceiling over the fitting rooms and cashwrap.
