Watch the Promotional Video Link Near Bottom of PageNew Aging Concept on University of Pennsylvania's campusProposition: transform Meyerson Hall, the building that houses PennDesign, into a structure for the aging. Through the use of an origami facade concept and an interior wall and ramp origami composition, the inhabitants would have the flexibility of transforming the spaces, light conditions, and access to outside areas. The interior units are comprised of a wall system that houses all of the furniture, which enables the inhabitants to "hide" their belongings, allowing for a fluid, unobstructed open space. The relationship between public and private spaces and the vast range of options between those two extremes is present. The building allows for coincidental happenings and provides a venue for the inhabitants to experience: New Encounters, New Firsts, Friendship, New Experiences, Romance, Foreplay, Sex, Safe Sex, Passion, Companionship, and Love. The video is designed to be a mere taste of what living in the building would be like and offer to its residents. The promotional video would be sent to prospective residents to peak their interest and inspire them to want to find out more...visit the project's website or call to setup an appointment to take a tour.
