The original Park Plaza was more than a hotel. Located across from the University of Toronto and just north from Queen’s Park, the hotel has been a beloved destination and centre for Canadian literature, opera singers, and politicians for over a century. The rooftop bar has been immortalized by generations of iconic Canadian authors from Mordecai Richler to Margaret Atwood. Our design vision taps into the rich memory of the past and anticipates the future of our growing city to activate the venerable location at the north-west corner of Bloor and Avenue Road. The project scope invests equally in the spaces of amenity and service and the ‘public realm’ to establish the Park Hyatt as a prime location for cultural and commercial convergence.
