The project involves the major refurbishment of the existing heritage listed Paramount Studios building in Surry Hills. The design response included a new cafe and retail spaces fronting Commonwealth Street opening onto a garden lightwell to the rear. Lift acess is provided to upper floor commercial offices and a rooftop cinema and bar. This open air cinema will be enjoyed by the community as well as providing a communal roof space for occupants of the building. The project is considered to be very complex due to the nature of working on a heritage building and all the associated issues that arise due to this.
