Furnish a coworking space at Casa nel Parco, the new home of Mirafiori Foundation, using boxes of fruit and vegetable from market.In the first step it was carried out a preliminary design session, this was followed by the organization of a DIY workshop open to citizens of the district in orderto make the furnishings. DescriptionReclaimed boxes of fruit and vegetables from market, have been the basic material for the design of furniture, as requested by the client. The boxes that have been used were in plastic and wood, with various shapes and colors.During the design session we did some tests and some prototypes in order to evaluate assembly techniques and mechanical strength.The workshop lasted two days and it involved the citizens of the district Mirafiori, a group of young disabled people of Cooperativa Sociale Stranaidea, and architecture students.Participants were given technical information with suggestions to build the furnishings, by the way they were free to compose equipments.We made movable partitions, bookshelves and an equipped area for the photocopier.Finally, we made instruction papers for DIY libraries and other design objects with boxes of fruit, available to visitors during the opening of the Casa nel Parco.
