A custom carport for a home designed by David Baker twenty years earlier. The client requested a modern, glass-roofed carport which enhanced privacy in the yard behind it. Ultimately, the glass roof will have custom artwork applied to its underside. Like the wings of a butterfly, the roof pitches towards a central gutter which carries run-off to a custom drainage basin at the rear. Similarly, the two vehicle gate leaves hinge off of a single post, with a concealed automatic door operator buried below grade.
