Palm Beach House
Designed as a family holiday home and a potential future permanent residence, this house sits high on the north east facing headland of Sydney’s famous Palm Beach.
In close collaboration with Stephen Collins Interior Design, the aim was to create a seamless connection between the interior and exterior on this spectacular site.
With panoramic views through 180 degrees to the north, the house essentially allows for complete transparency in this direction with large operable glazed openings and dramatic cantilevered roofs. To the south the rear of the house encapsulates a sheltered courtyard with a pond providing a more intimate connection to the site, and providing shelter from the street.
A lower level provides for a family theatre, services and guest accommodation. It is connected to a partially wooded area of remnant bushland that will be carefully regenerated and landscaped.
