A crossfade HYBRID
Marking the northern entrance of Palaiseau, this future living area enjoys an
exceptional location within a mile of a major regional transportation hub (bus
- RER B and C,TGV) and close to a shopping center. These advantages lead us to encourage and facilitate
alternative means of transport (pedestrians, public transport, cycles),
generating spaces for living and sharing the expense of the car parking
confined to functional. Indeed, this project represents a major challenge
for sustainable development for the city, reinforcing the supply of housing
while affirming the urban character and emphasizing the desire to offer an
environmental approach across the municipality.Building 250 housing means to make clear urban
strategies for the success of the operation and to fuse this new set of
importance in its immediate environment. Our team takes
the party to graft the new neighborhood "fade" with its suburbs. It is for us to propose a new hybrid of urban form
"inhabited wood" and "eco-district" between
"residential" and free composition of a "piece of city" contemporary
and sustainable .Basis for our
project, we relied on the structural elements of the immediate landscape. This
permeability typologies surrounding influence the shape of our built
environment, its direction, its masses, its geometries. The stated goal is
to play with the variety of postures, shapes and volumes by merging existing on
the site of the operation. Thus, it is not to draw a "big unit"
autonomous and exogenous 250 homes, but to propose a new neighborhood with a
different experience, integrated with its surroundings, and playing its
mimicry, its ruptures of scales, their different sizes, its surprises even
to make sense of an "already there" as "found" and not
"imposed".In an apparent
random, new construction emerging from a mass tree now almost heritage, which
must keep the spirit and form and for its people is guaranteed by the
integration of newcomers. We thought this project as emerging from the
plant.
