Pad 63 by DC Interior DesignProject Designer: Dillon Chen Firm: DC Interior Design This medium size four bedroom apartment was converted into an urban bachelor pad with a guest room and an open kitchen bar connecting to a large living room. The initial task of designing this apartment is to fully utilize the beams and pillars in the space, so the interior was ostensibly carved around the existing structure of the building. It has always been DC Interior Design's goal to create interesting space by merging geometric forms with raw materials. Not much was changed in the interior space except the removal of two brick walls between the kitchen, living room and the study, by removing these two walls it gave us a open kitchen with a bar and more street light entering the living room from the study. The huge brick wall between the living and the study was taken down and pushed back to allow a larger living room and in its place is a aluminum H-beam and glass wall. A juxtaposition of aluminum, glass, geometric shapes and solid wood is what most guests notice when they enter this well-lite space.
