Outside-in pavilion fulfills the practical goal of an isolated space to work, (it has wifi) or place of contemplation in nature. It also fulfills the goal of the client, an matriarch, to bring her extended family together for meals and to congregate in nature. They use it at night to star gaze and share stories, like being around a campfire. In the day during covid it provides an additional workspace separate from the home and its distractions. In clement weather it can even be used as a sleeping porch as it is replete w a steel circular rod that can outfit mosquito netting curtains, as can the oculus. In these ways the pavilion is a place of utility.
