Architecture is not only about design but mainly about emotion.
The renovation and extension of the Oude Luxor Theater in Rotterdam is completed.
After 7 months of hard labor, the works’ acceptance took place on the 27th of November. Paul de Leeuw opened the renovated theater with the TV recordings of his show “Ik ben rustig!” the very same evening. The official reopening took place on Tuesday 2 December 2014.
Project is though as one, the interior reflects on the exterior and vice versa, maximizing synergies between street life and theater vibes.
Using the incredible potential of the existing, daring mix of materials and references, from art deco to industrial inspiration. Contrasting materials, carefully selected lighting and fabric, each intervention contributes to the festive atmosphere.
