Do-It-Yourself Pavilion: Origadiz
Salon 2 Architecture is invited to EASA 2011 to build 1/1 scale pavillion for the city of Cadiz.
The main design principal of Origadiz is based on Origami techinique and integrates various functions along a unique folded surface. The first fold defines a projection screen for open air cinema. The same surface turns into a stage then seating stairs then a viewing platform. Below the folded surface, a shaded resting area takes place. Whole system is supported by scafolding columns to emphasize the temporality and lightness of the pavillion.
Currently origadiz is located at San Juan De Dioz Square in Cadiz as a part of Cadiz’s city life.
