The office of Orient Games designed in cooperation with KOOP Architects and Studio Zon, is located in Kadıkoy, Istanbul, Turkey.
The design decisions has been developed for an office that will be used by different teams of employees with flexible working hours and days. The space was built on two main functional areas, which we categorized as social space and work space.
In the organization of the space, an innovative and dynamic design developed and open plan scheme has been applied, with the references from young and diverse user profiles.
All existing walls were removed and a 'shell' was designed starting from the entrance and spreading throughout the space. While the social area and work area are placed on the side of the shell facing to the main façade; wet areas, technical equipment and storage areas etc. functions which need closed area are placed to the side facing the blind façade. A meeting room at the corner is bordered with a filleted glass wall.
The shell, which is the border between open and closed spaces, is made of white lacquered wood panels and niches are formed on it from the water resistant pylwood and these niches are used for different needs such as kitchen, meeting rooms and locker area.
Open plan scheme and variety of furniture provide alternative use of areas such as socializing, eating and working for the employees.
White color throughout the space and concrete texture on the floor were preferred in order to create a spacious and serene atmosphere. The wood used in the niches in the ‘shell’ and different colors used in the moving furniture add warmth to the space.
Different sizes and types of plants were placed in the office in order to separate the usage areas from each other and to create a quiet atmosphere.
