The project of "Orduña Elkartegia" involved the challenge of having to design a large industrial building in the middle of a rural valley of great natural beauty at the heart of the Basque Country.
The project was divided into two different buildings. The largest of them houses the industrial spaces and its most remarkable feature is the design of the facade. In order to reduce the visual impact of this industrial volume, the precast concrete panels of the facade were painted with a palette of pale greens.
The office building, which is placed at the end of the site, is radically different from the industrial volume. The materials chosen, in situ concrete and glazing protected with vertical louvers, give the building the image that the client was looking for. A large concrete cantilever shelters the main entrance and the offices which are in the first floor, afford commanding views of the surrounding landscape.
