Oppidans Road, Primrose Hill
A roof extension to provide a bachelor pad with recycled roof structure and a contrast of rough and smooth.
This project for an actor in Primrose Hill converted and extended a one and a half bedroom flat into two doubles with two bathrooms and a south facing balcony. The proposal met with considerable resistance at the planning office but E2 managed to negotiate a full width dormer roof extension to the rear and 3/4 width to the front giving 40m2 of additional floor area.
The roof extension is clad with zinc so that it will keep a sharp look with minimal maintenance for a very long time. The new structure is built with recycled timber beams to give the top room a warehouse loft style. The interior is an interplay of textures and colours for a contemporary feel within a period property.
State of the art LED lighting and super-insulated walls make the internal environment comfortable and easy on the eye. Textured wallpapers give accent to interior colour scheme of warm muted tones. Antiqued mirrors and oxidised porcelain tiles offset the white porcelain and chromed bathroom fittings.
