Oohtopia strives to capture the 'Delightfully Disruptive' culture of the innovative, eclectic and trend setting Ad Agency it houses. The design debunks typical 'Open' office plans and opts for a plan offering flexibility to spend time secluded for personal focus AND opportunities for varying levels of formal collaboration throughout.
Several strategies disrupt the typical expectations for an office space design. For example, rather than hiding the Server Room, this design celebrates the physical manifestation of their web presence as a spectacle, placed in the heart of the space, encased in a glass vitrine. All the walls are painted in dry erase board paint. The interior glass walls allow light to penetrate to the core of the space but are also conveniently grided to allow for collaboration using glass markers. Lastly, tufted felt walls and athletic grade synthetic turf was used to enhance acoustics while providing pinnable surfaces and a connection to nature respectively.
The 11,000 Sq. Ft. office space includes innovative programs such as community gathering/event space, classrooms, café, lounge, performance stage, photo studio with cyclorama wall, grass mound area, offices, meeting rooms, and reception. Merging these ideas, visitors enter the space from an elevator into the café/lounge and walk past bistro tables to reach the receptionist who functions as your barista. This delightfully disrupts your expectations of a workspace.
