The One Morayta student dormitory is located in one of the City's university belt. It houses students that are studying in one of the many universities and colleges around the area.
The site is very narrow at only 8 meters in width, which poses a challenge in terms of planning and designing the facade.
The architect played with the massing and various design elements in the facade like adding horizontal aluminum fins and a curved line that sliced the facade in half, in order to provide a sort of optical illusion that makes the building appear wider. In this type of mass manipulation approach, the architect was able to achieve the desired proportion and scale that is needed for the very narrow building facade.
