At first meeting we didn’t have any special requests, as usual customer wanted to build a cozy café with nice atmosphere. But during communication with Vladimir we realized that his inner life is much more complicated and similar to ours. After we had offered and approved the name and then made up logo we had to build a place that would become the most favorite for everyone.
Our task was to create modern, simple interior and to design the space with the maximum quantity of wood and coffee smell. Customer approved and supplemented our ideas. For instance, shelves that are in the center of the room were created by us but customer filled them with art, architecture and design magazines. Also, for example, milled letters of wood panels were made by us, but the meaning of the phrases were proposed by the customer.
It is worth noting that quite a lot of time was spent on searching for the best location. But it was worth it. There aren’t that many prominent and interesting places in Kyiv. At the beginning of construction jobs the object consisted of cement bin with low ceiling and was quite narrow. Thanks to customer’s inner feeling and our intuition it was decided to work with this kind of building.
To start with, the location was unusual itself. The café is located in unusual place, under stair flight. As it turned out our customer was creative. We was interested in all stages of construction jobs. And when it came to fine finish, his team started to help our builders. They polished and milled plywood, varnished shelves, screwed the light bulbs with great pleasure. Vladimir not only invested money, but also lent his soul to a task. It was very interesting to watch it. Perhaps that is the reason for One Love Espresso Bar to become such a cozy place.
There wasn’t any re-planning in this cafe. Our task was more than just a right zoning. Since café was narrow we decided to put tables along the perimeter of the hall. Till the very end we didn’t know whether it would be convenient for the customers. But it turned out that people, especially couples really enjoy sitting shoulder to shoulder. This became the main idea of espresso bar
The interior is filled with love to natural textures, coffee and etc. That’s why it is quite difficult to mark something out. But one of my favorites are milled phrases and logo elements on wooden panels and door leafs. Lightning is also worth mentioning. Violet color made them really unusual and interesting.
All furniture, lightening, doors, door-handles and even wall base were made according to our drawings. So all of this is completely exclusive. Tile Loft is from notable Spanish factory Ape Ceramics. Coffee machine La Marzocco is also very special.
